Floor Moisture Test Kit: Excessive moisture in the concrete sub-floor can adversely affect the adhesion and appearance of any finished floor. Industry-accepted practice calls for the installer to test the sub-floor for moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) prior to beginning tile installation.

		3M™ 8403 Conductive Adhesive is used to install 3M™ 8400 Series ESD Tile and provides an efficient electrical groundplane underneath the entire floor to drain electrostatic charges to ground. The black adhesive is a two-part compound supplied in "gallon units", each consisting of two gallon-sized cans, Part A and Part B, pre-measured to provide the proper mix ratio when the contents of the two cans are combined. The coverage rate for each gallon unit is typically 135 square feet.

	At least one test kit should be installed for every 1000 square feet of floor space, with a minimum of three in any single room. Before the start of installation, the average of all readings must be less than 3.0 pounds of moisture per 1000 square feet per 24 hours, with no single reading above 3.5 pounds. If the MVTR readings exceed these limits, corrective action is required (e.g., application of a water seal membrane).
